Nepal Independent Tourism Workers’ Guild (NITWOG) has been fighting since a long time ago with Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) for the workers remuneration (Salary) increase including Joint Tourism Trade Unions’ Forum (JOTTUF) .
According to JOTTUF after several meetings, Agreement has been made between the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) and Joint Tourism Trade Unions’ Forum (JOTTUF) on 9 June 2023. The following minimum rate of remuneration of Trekking Guide has been accepted with effect from 17th July 2023.
Remuneration for trekking guides Rs 3100 per day , Assistants trekking guide Rs 2800 per day, Porter guide Rs 2500 per day and porters Rs 2400 per day.
Labor Act and Regulations are applicable. Social Security Fund (SSF) is applicable as per the Contribution-Based Social Security Act. TAAN and Trade Unions publish and circulate this agreement to the members and follow strictly. The remuneration shall normally be increased biennially by Collective bargaining agreement CBA as per Labor Act, inflation and the government rules.
