Civil aviation authority of Nepal has been notified that, all flights to gateway of everest region Lukla airport will be operating from Ramechap airport form 1 Oct 2023.
This decision is made to avoid traffic congestion at Kathmandu airport for smoothly operate flights for tourists and workers’.
The Ramechhap is small airport in town of manthali, which is headquarter of Ramechhap district.
Airport locateded approximately 135 km far from Kathmandu. It’s takes 4-5 hours by driving from Kathmandu.
In this case you have to adds a challenge to get up early in the morning and drive to manthali for the fly to Lukla. There’s few numbers of tourists stranders hotels, you can drive day before flight day as well.
